Kimberly Lott was born in Indiana, but has lived in North Carolina almost 30 years. She completed her junior and senior years of high school in Durham at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, where she currently volunteers on the alumni board. After that, she attended Duke University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Molecular Biology. Ms. Lott worked in the science, medical, and non-profit fields for several years before deciding to make a career change and become an attorney. After graduating from Campbell University School of Law, she worked at a small firm in Durham, then decided to strike out on her own, opening Lott Law. Her passion is forensics, and she volunteers with groups like the North Carolina Center on Actual Innocence and North Carolina Attorneys for Science and Technology. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, travel, reading and spending time with her family.
